If you want to clear your property, try composting.

Wait until the late in the day and make sure there is no wind.

Remain alert, fine fuels such as dead leaves and twigs blow away easily over great distances.

Before burning something, ask your municipality. Several municipalities now require a permit.

If you want to smoke in a forested area, choose a cleared area and extinguish your cigarette butt on a rock or by burying it in the ground.
