Fire #2026-0358, located near Lac de la Bouteille, exhibited very intense activity on Tuesday, particularly in the northeastern portion of its perimeter. Its spread was more limited on Wednesday. However, a small advance observed in the northeastern sector crossed the provincial boundary into Labrador.

The objective of firefighting crews remains to keep the fire within a predetermined perimeter and to strengthen the southern and eastern containment lines.

Suppression efforts are being carried out by nearly three sections of wildland firefighters, supported by helicopters. Water bomber operations may also be conducted as required.

Due to the fire’s proximity to the neighboring province, daily coordination is maintained with Labrador wildfire suppression teams to ensure a coordinated response and ongoing monitoring of the situation.

Fire 358 – Lac de la Bouteille (Fermont Sector)

The objective for this wildfire, located in a northern remote area, remains to contain it within a predetermined perimeter.

Fire 2026-358 exhibited very active behavior throughout Tuesday. Due to intense fire activity observed at the head of the fire in the northeastern section of its perimeter, it is now considered out of control.

A rapid increase in fire intensity during the morning forced the suspension of airtanker operations. Meanwhile, heliborne crews continued suppression work in the western sector, at the rear of the fire.

Given the intensity of the wildfire, no prescribed burn operations were carried out during the day.
