This wildfire, located southeast of the Mirabel Airport, was reported in the late afternoon of October 5. The fire, now considered contained, covers an area of 13.9 hectares. Operations are being carried out in collaboration between SOPFEU, the Mirabel Fire Department, and neighbouring municipal fire services. On the ground, an incident commander, four SOPFEU crew leaders, and about thirty municipal firefighters are currently deployed. A water bomber mission was carried out this afternoon on the flanks of the fire to slow its progression in the forested area. Approximately 80% of the affected area is located beneath a high-voltage power line. The objective remains to fully contain the fire by the end of the day tomorrow.

Residents in the area are advised to stay away from the site. This precaution is intended to ensure everyone’s safety, as aerial operations pose risks to people on the ground. We also remind the public that flying over an active wildfire—whether with an aircraft or a drone—is strictly prohibited.
