Stay Informed at All Times
To receive alerts about wildfires, current restrictions, and the fire danger rating, create your SOPFEU profile today. Whether you're in the forest or at home, stay connected to essential safety information.
By creating a profile, you can:
Receive the fire danger rating for your selected area(s);
Stay informed about current preventive measures and restrictions;
Choose how you want to be notified: email, SMS, or mobile notification;
Set the frequency: daily or only when there's a change;
Receive SOPFEU public notices.
Targeting options available:
By administrative region, municipality, or GPS point;
By fire danger zone (especially useful for partners managing fire danger rating signs).
Available on both the SOPFEU website (mobile and desktop) and in the new SOPFEU app.
Notifications
The Fire Danger Index
Get the fire danger index for a specific location in just a few steps:
Find the location on the map (you can use the search bar).
Click the 🔔 Bell icon to enable notifications.
Current Restrictions
Save a location using the 🔖 Bookmark button to receive a notification as soon as a preventive measure or restriction comes into effect in that area.
Active Fires
Two ways to stay informed:
By location: Save a spot with the 🔖 Bookmark button to get an alert if a fire becomes active within a 25 km radius.
By specific fire: Click the 🔔 Bell icon associated with an active fire to follow its status in real time.
Press releases
Press releases inform the population about the current situation, the implementation of preventive measures, or wildfire prevention topics in Québec. On average, we issue around 20 notices per year.
Industry releases
These releases are intended for industry members and SOPFEU partners. They provide updates on the implementation of preventive measures such as work restrictions in forested areas or the suspension of industrial burn permit issuance.
Create Your User Profile
Step 1 – Access the “Profile” section
Click on the Profile button at the top right corner of the website.
Step 2 – Register
To create a new user profile, click the sentence at the bottom of the login box:
“Don’t have an account? Sign up.”
Step 3 – Enter your information
Enter your email address.
Create a password that meets the following criteria:
✓ At least 8 characters
✓ At least 3 of the following types of characters:
✓ Lowercase letters (a–z)
✓ Uppercase letters (A–Z)
✓ Numbers (0–9)
✓ Special characters (e.g., !@#$%^&*)Click on “Continue”.
Step 4 – Email verification
Check your inbox.
If you don’t see the email, check your junk or spam folder. (Sender: nepasrepondre@sopfeu.qc.ca)
Click the “Verify your profile” button in the email.
Wait for the on-screen confirmation that your email has been successfully verified.
Step 5 – Access your profile settings
Hover over the “Profile” icon in the top right corner.
Click on “Settings”.
Step 6 – Delete your account
In the left-hand menu, click “Delete profile”.
Click “Delete my profile”.
Confirm a second time.
Set Up Your Notifications
Step 1 – Enable geolocation
Go to the homepage. Use the geolocation tool by clicking the location icon in the search bar.
Step 2 – Enable alerts or save a location
Once you're on the geolocated page, two options are available:
Click the 🔔 Bell icon to enable notifications.
Click the 🔖 Bookmark icon to save the location.
Step 3 – Subscribe to alerts
To receive notifications for the selected location, you must:
Toggle the switch to the right.
Select your desired frequency.
Choose your preferred notification method (email, SMS, or mobile notifications).
