Summer conditions are now well established in the Capitale-Nationale region. A low-pressure system accompanied by a cold front moving in from the west is expected to cross the province on Saturday, bringing precipitation to much of the territory. Summer conditions are gradually settling in the Capitale-Nationale region. The fire danger is currently moderate to very high. Rain is expected over the weekend, however the fire danger is likely to rise again as of Monday with the return of nice weather.

While waiting for the full spring leaf out and during periods of nice weather, the vegetation becomes highly flammable. The risk is real. In these conditions, it only takes one spark: a discarded cigarette butt or an improperly extinguished fire can quickly ignite a wildfire. Be extra vigilant. Before any activity in or near forested areas, check the restrictions in place and adjust your behaviour accordingly. Every action counts in preventing wildfires.
